International Pan Celtic Festival 2016

The Pan Celtic International Festival 2016 will take place in Carlow Town from 29th March – 3rd April 2016 Pan Celtic is a celebration of the cultural links between Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall and the Isle of Man. Dancers, musicians, singers, bands and choirs from the participating Celtic nations will gather in Carlow to share their culture at this great family-friendly Easter event. Festival highlights include the international song contest of newly composed songs in the celtic language, traditional singing solo and group competitions as well as choral, piping, instrumental and dance competitions. In addition a full fringe programme of events include street entertainment, the nations parade, workshops, céilithe, workshops and seisiúin galore. The International Pan Celtic Festival affords an opportunity to share, celebrate, nurture and strengthen the rich celtic language, culture, music and song of the participating nations.

The Instrumental Competitions include:

(A) FIDDLE A1 & HARP A2: (Open Competitions) First Prize: Cup & €200; Second Prize: Silver Medal & €100; Third Prize: Bronze Medal & €50.

(B) DUET: (Any two instruments) First Prize: Cup & €300; Second Prize: Silver Medal each & €200.
