Irish Play Ó Pheann An Phiarsaigh to be Staged in Dún Uladh

The one man drama in Irish, Ó Pheann An Phiarsaigh, by Noel Ó Gallachóir, will be staged in Dún Uladh Cultural Heritage Centre, Omagh next Saturday 24 September at 8pm. This play produced and presented by Ó Gallchóir commemorates the centenary of the 1916 Rising through a dramatization of some of the writings of Patrick Pearse, one of the leaders of that event.

This performance is a celebration of the life and works of Pearse who is presented in the drama as a writer, an educator and a revolutionary who did great work for the Irish language and culture and who gave his life for his country. Pearse’s vision for Ireland is presented in this production through the dramatization of some of his best writings in Irish.

This drama will be enhanced by the use of lighting, sound effects, music and props to make it a highly professional production. This celebratory event will be brought to a close with music and song by a selection of performers from Co Donegal. Tickets for this event cost £5 and can be purchased from Dún Uladh at 028 82242777 or at the door on the night. This event has been part funded by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
