Celtic Bridge in association with Comhaltas

13th December 2016

Comhaltas are delighted to announce that the 'Celtic Bridge' radio programme will be coming to Comhaltas in 2017, taking up residence on Ulster’s Comhaltas Regional Centre website www.dunuladh.ie.

'Celtic Bridge', as Ardstiúrthóir (Director General) Labhrás Ó Murchú said, will be 'the voice of Ulster'. This is a new concept for Comhaltas and Celtic Bridge, we are joining forces over the next twelve months to bring an established weekly programme of traditional and folk music, interviews and recordings from events around the province.

Already Celtic Bridge has begun its travels once again, recording at Fleadh Uladh, as well as other events the music and stories from across Ulster.

Keeping to its mix of album releases, archival material, outside broadcasts and studio guests, we are looking forward to once again hearing from stalwarts in traditional music and song. We will also be including young musicians starting their journeys, promoting events and recording some of those precious moments in traditional and folk music at Fleadhanna, festivals, and sessions, along side in studio interviews and performances. This project will also become an integral part of the Comhaltas archive, with recordings being posted to the archive as well.

Links will be available on the Dún Uladh and Comhaltas websites or via the Celtic Bridge Facebook page. In the lead up to a launch in early 2017 we will be out on the road recording and working on material for you, so if there's an event you want included, an album release, an interview, concert performance, session or whatever, feel free to contact the show at josephinesings@gmail.com / eventsirishmusic@hotmail.com, via Facebook or by contacting Dun Uladh at 028 82242777 or email info@dunuladh.ie
