Gino Lupari, Tim Edey and Gerry O'Connor take to Dún Uladh

Following a busy Fleadh season, Dún Uladh prepares to host a mirage of Autumn concerts beginning with trad trio and Irish music legends, Gino Lupari, Tim Edey & Gerry O’Connor in concert.

The group will perform their debut at Dún Uladh cultural Heritage Centre on Saturday 21st September promising an evening of stellar Irish traditional entertainment. Gino Lupari has been said to be one of the most exciting and captivating bodhran players on the trad scene. Having travelled the globe, headlining in iconic festivals such as Canada’s “Edmonton Folk Festival”, Lupari is always in demand as a session and recording player and has performed with top artists including Sinead O’Connor and Shane McGowan.

Lupari will be joined by one of the most respected and acclaimed banjo players to be found in the Irish music scene today, Gerry O’Connor. Tipperary born O’Connor has played with some of Ireland’s most appreciated folk bands such as, ‘Tipsy Sailor’ and the ballad band, ‘Moonshine’. O’Connor has played and recorded with legendary Christy Moore, Bonnie Tyler, The Corrs and Sharon Shannon to name a few.

Tim Edey finishes the tremendous trilogy and has been said to be one of the most thrilling and exciting musicians to be found on the world stage today. As winner of BBC musician of the year and a multi-instrumentalist, Edey has toured the world and recorded with major names in contemporary, Irish, folk and roots music and after seventeen years of hard work, Tim is one of the world’s finest ever melodeon and guitar players in the folk and contemporary scene today.

Catch the trad trio in Dún Uladh on Saturday 21st September at 8:30pm in Dún Uladh Cultural Heritage Centre. Earlybird tickets are available now for £12 pp at www.dunuladh.ie or alternatively you can purchase on arrival for £15 pp. Under 16’s also have a special rate at £7.50 pp and family (2 adults, 2 children) admitted for £30.
